On Friday, September 17th, over 50 of our closest friends and supporters joined us in celebrating a much-anticipated and long-awaited celebration: the official ribbon-cutting for our new central kitchen which will serve over 2400 highly nutritious and delicious meals to the children in our program every day. Our wonderful and talented culinary team, led by Brian Ralph, served delicious items like beef tenderloin with horseradish cream, vegetarian stuffed portobello mushrooms, and filo wrapped shrimp, not to mention the amazing meat and cheese platter and hand-squeezed strawberry lemonade.
Due to the tremendous support and in-kind donation by one of our donors, it was announced at the ribbon cutting that the kitchen will now be named the Northstar Builders Kitchen. A special thank you to Greg & Phil with Northstar Builders for all of their work in transforming the space into such a beautiful kitchen. We were thrilled to have three children from our program on-hand to cut the ribbon. We’ve only been serving meals out of this kitchen for one week and already the rave reviews are coming in from the children we serve.
